Sandra Chau is a stylist and creative director and founder of the School of Visual Branding. Known and respected for her minimalist design aesthetic, Sandra takes a thoughtful and intentional approach to design and connects brands to their customers by elevating their imagery in new and exciting ways. Sandra has directed and styled campaigns for luxury brands all over the world, ranging from weddings to jewellery to loungewear to bedding, artisan products and more. She is passionate about cultivating an experience for your brand with sophisticated and show-stopping visuals.
David Duong is a sought after wedding, lifestyle and family photographer and the creative behind We Are Origami. With 10+ years of experience in photography, David has photographed thousands of people and hundreds of weddings around the globe. David specialises in weddings, portrait and editorial photography with a focus on film, and is know for his approach which combines a modern classic and intentional composition with natural light and a sense of calm and colour.

Who should attend the workshop?
This workshop is for digital, film, or hybrid shooters who are ready to dive in head first and learn from Sandra, a recognised and respected stylist and creative director, and David Duong, one of Sydney's top portrait, wedding and family photographers.
If I’m new to photography and shooting hybrid, should I still attend?
Of course! What a great opportunity to learn from Sandra and David, one of the top names in the industry so early on in your career. And with the opportunity to an exquisite shoot full of perfectly styled details by Sandra alongside David, there will be so much to learn and set you up on the right foot to continue to hone your photography skills and grow your business.
Is this only for wedding photographers?
This workshop is for both wedding photographers and lifestyle photographers who want to further develop their eye for art direction and shooting. If you are interested in shooting weddings, editorials or creative portraits, you will benefit from this workshop.
What will we be shooting? Will there be different shoot set ups?
Whilst the design of the shoot is still in progress, we will be shooting a variety of flat lays and other intricate details, florals, a table scape and creative portraits with a gorgeous model. Sandra will be teaching you how her strategy on how to see all the shots and stretch your photo shoots to create a variety of content that goes beyond just a wedding portfolio.
Is this workshop suitable to branding photographers or product photographers?

Will we get an opportunity to photograph or would we be spending more time watching?
You will get plenty of opportunity to photograph all the different set ups and scenes. Sandra and Dave will show you what they're shooting and you'll have the chance to do the same and direct the model to get the shots you want. We are limiting the attendees to 10 for this very reason.

Sometimes it is so hard to find time to invest in education, but an investment in YOURSELF is always worth it. When I took the plunge and left my safe and high-paying law career, one of the best investments I made was hiring a coach. Through mentors, education, making lots of my own mistakes, I became successful so much faster than I ever thought I could and was shown SO many gaps in my portfolio that I would not have been able to see myself because I was just too close. Sometimes you just need someone to show you the way and give you that nudge and support and support and implement new things into your business.
Let's say you create a portfolio that sells itself and you book your first client for $5k+...then your next 10...and so on. Would it be worth it then?
What will David be sharing on the day?
David will be shooting alongside me (and YOU) and share what he looks for in the shots, how he collaborates with stylists and work together to direct the models and so much more. This is a practical hands on experience that will change the way you shoot.
Would we learn how to do flat lays ourselves or do we shoot what you set out?
Sandra will be styling all the flat lays and other details for you to shoot so you won't have to worry about that. Whilst Sandra won't be teaching you how to style flat lays, you'll get the opportunity to watch how she makes her styling decisions and ask her any questions relating to styling as well.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the extensive amount of upfront costs and planning, there will be no refunds or transfers. If you can sell your spot, you can transfer to another attendee. If for any reason the workshop cannot be held, it will be rescheduled to another date.
Is travel and accomodation included?
Attendees are responsible for their own transportation and accomodation (if required). Bowral is a 90 minute drive from Sydney so it is possible to drive up just for the day and drive home after.
